Teren Ramnundlall

Managing Partner

As Co-Founder and Visionary of Sunburst, Teren, specializes in a multitude of skills of which his focus in on deal acquisition and capital raising.

​

Teren is from Johannesburg, South Africa and a graduate from the University of South Africa where he received his Bachelor in Business Administration.

​

Upon graduation, he spent the first part of his career working in various managerial roles in Finance, Operations & Business Development.

​

Teren thoroughly enjoyed roles where he was required to locate new business premises and set-up new offices in various countries throughout the EMEA region.

​

In 2019, he left his corporate career and focused on real estate investing full-time. Teren started renting apartments and single family homes through buying, rehabbing and renting them out.

​

Teren won the Most Growth “Investor of the Year” Award in 2021 as he was able to remotely do deals during COVID. Teren then sought out more growth and identified multifamily investing in the USA as his next logical step.

​

Outside of real estate, he loves spending time with his wife and son. Teren enjoys reading and has read over 300 books. Teren enjoys new experiences which has led him to visit more than 35 countries.

He strongly believes in the importance of maintaining the freedom and flexibility to spend more time with family, friends, and pursuing new interests.

Shaun Pillay

Managing Partner

He is the Co-Founder of Sunburst Equity. Shaun is the deal maker in the team. His strengths lie in connecting people, seeing opportunities. He is great at networking, market research and conflict resolution. Aka the Negotiation tactician.

​

 

He enjoys maintaining key relationships with brokers and investors. He believes in open lines of communication with all members of our team. This is paramount to a successful business. He will be involved in our repositioning deals, sourcing materials and working with contractors. Shaun is also involved with the financial and operational aspects such as deal due diligence, underwriting, property managers, legal teams and accountants.

​

 

He entered the property market in South Africa in 2017 doing single family homes and then moved into student accommodation. He has successfully negotiated contracts with universities for direct rental for all his units.

​

 

He has Bachelor of Science degree and then did his Bachelors of Optometry degree. He still practices on a part-time basis. He does a lot of philanthropic work as well as doing pediatric vision care at no charge to all patients under 12 years.

​

Kim Bruggeman is responsible for the development and operational oversight of Lighthouse Management Solutions' multi-family and student housing portfolio.

​

 

She brings over 17 years of Asset Management experience in the commercial real estate space.

​

 

Encompassing over 25,000 units nationwide, Kim has been directly involved in multi-family real estate investing, ownership, syndications, asset management, property management, court-appointed receivership, auditing and management for underperforming assets throughout the United States for Fannie Mae, numerous large lenders, special servicers, and private investors.

Tate's passion is improving (value-adding) high-density, multi-family developments and existing apartment buildings in such a way that maximizes value of communities in order to provide solid, consistent returns to investors and well-being to residents. Tate's real estate roots extend back 15 years to when he bought his first multi-family property - a 110 year-old duplex in South Salt Lake City.

​

He has since been a been a principal in over 40 transactions, and an agent in over 40 investor transactions. He has a vision for sleek, clean, and modern remodel design elements which nicely allows for powerful re-branding and repositioning.

 

​

Tate works with sellers, wholesalers, lenders, money partners, contractors, and many other contacts to coordinate a robust set of industry relationships. He hosts “The Apartment Guys Podcast” and serves on the Executive Board of the Utah Real Estate Investor Association.

 

​

He enjoys helping fellow investors and entrepreneurs through mentoring and coaching. Tate's other passions include big-mountain skiing and mountain biking, music, and hiking with his dog, Joey.

Carl York brings a wealth of project/asset management to our team. While supervising all aspects of construction and remodeling for Olympus Development for the last 8 years, Carl has developed a robust skill set and network of resources that ensures successful execution of the assets target objectives.

 

Carl began investing in real estate in 1998, buying multiple properties in a single development. He now has an impressive personal portfolio that produces passive cash flow and has enjoyed significant appreciation.

​

 

Carl also specializes in pooling capital and working with investors to create profitable partnerships for both short- and long-term wealth growth. He has a passion for finding and maximizing value-add opportunities where the asset can be repositioned in the market to produce highest and best value.

​

 

Carl is also passionate about creating eco-friendly housing whenever possible, contributing to the overall well-being of the community and its residents. In his free time, Carl enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife and 3 kids.

Eric Stewart

Advisory Partner

Eric Stewart is the owner of Atlantic Investment Capital, Inc. a full service commercial lending advisory & brokerage firm. Eric has been structuring finance solutions for both commercial real estate investors and business owners since 1996 with products ranging from equipment leases to commercial real estate loans as well as assumption representation & consulting. Atlantic currently specializes in structuring finance solutions for investment opportunities in commercial real estate assets nationwide.

​

 

Atlantic leverages direct relationships with both Agency and conduit lenders for permanent loans as well as hedge funds and insurance companies for interim financing. Atlantic also provides equity funding solutions for select properties within the domestic United States.

​

 

In addition to providing debt & equity solutions to commercial real estate investors, Eric currently holds partnership interest in multifamily assets throughout the Southeast & Midwest.
